Until now, DDS and Graphisoft were sister companies of the Nemetschek Group, which provides the construction industry with a broad, integrated range of services. The current merger of the two brands under the "Graphisoft" umbrella is another important step in this regard and it offers the opportunity to exploit synergies between the brands.

Our history

In 1984 the company Data Design System AS (DDS) was founded near the southern Norwegian port of Stavanger. From the very beginning, the innovative idea has been pursued to develop an interdisciplinary, database driven, intelligent 3D design software for all building services, which should also allow all relevant calculations. This goal was implemented with DDS-CAD. Due to the great success achieved in Norway, the company soon expanded internationally.

In the 90's the German headquarters in Ascheberg was purchased and Data Design System GmbH was established. Other locations - including Austria - soon followed.

Today, DDS has developed into one of the leading international providers of CAD/BIM software specifically tailored for the design of MEP systems with an international distribution network. The strong financial base of the company ensures continuity in the development of products and flexibility of the integration of new technologies.
